Fire up the Grill!

The summer weather is great for nights of barbecuing and spending time with friends, especially here in Everett, MA. Because we experience such great weather, we suggest heading out to a park with a grill to have a barbecue! In this week’s Wellington Parkside Blog, we’ve compiled a few tips for you to aid you in firing up the grill and throwing a great party!

Be Prepared

Nothing ruins a barbecue like missing something crucial such as utensils or napkins. A good thing to do is to have a checklist for the night before, and once you’ve gotten everything, place all the necessary items in a box so you don’t forget! The weather is also something to take into consideration, as the weather can be unpredictable and fickle. Have a backup plan for if the weather turns sour.

Ask for help.

If you’re planning on a more diverse menu than burgers, brats, and chips, carrying the load of planning and making all the food can be overwhelming. So make it a potluck, or at least ask a few friends to contribute a couple dishes, sides, and drinks. It makes the work easier on everyone and lets everyone contribute. Invite a few friends over at an earlier time to get started before the rest of your guests arrive. You can even ask your guests to help you cook so you can participate in the social interaction!

The Food

Food is an important part of your event. You don’t want your guests to go hungry or be dissatisfied at the end of the day. Be sure to prepare enough food for the guests you’ve invited and some extra in case additional people come. The kind of food you prepare is up to you, you can choose to serve burgers and hot dogs or try something more elaborate!
